What Is Osteopathy?
Osteopathic manipulative medicine (OMM), also known as osteopathy or osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT), is a hands on medical treatment done by a registered physician that provides a natural, drug free approach to the diagnosis and treatment of a wide variety of musculoskeletal and nervous system problems such as back pain, neck pain, sport injuries and headaches.
By addressing the cause of pain and dysfunction, Osteopathy restores balance and normal function to the musculoskeletal system (bones, ligaments, muscles, nerves, joints, and connective tissue) and nervous system (brain, spinal cord, nerves). Because osteopaths believe that there may be a musculoskeletal link in many conditions, osteopathy may also help with a wider range of disorders.

Improving Health Across All Body Systems
Osteopathy was founded in the United States of America by Andrew Taylor Still, M.D. His philosophy focuses on detecting, treating and preventing health problems by moving, stretching and massaging a person’s muscles and joints. Osteopathy is based on the principle that the wellbeing of an individual depends on their bones, muscles, ligaments and connective tissue functioning smoothly together. It is a non-invasive manual therapy technique that uses manipulation, articulation and muscle energy techniques to improve health across all body systems.
How It Works
Osteopathic treatment targets the musculoskeletal, nervous, circulatory and lymphatic systems to generate a positive healing cascade. An osteopathic physician focuses on joints, muscles and the spine to improve joint movement, increase circulation and reduce postural adaptation. It is our aim to reduce our patient’s pain, improve function and get you back to work.
